It looks like Abby and his team redeemed themselves after their 6-0 loss last week with this 7-2 win over Abby's old team, Fribourg.
It's great to see him and his fellow team mates bounce back like this.

The Coyotes tore it up last night against the Los Angeles Kings with a 5-2 win.  The Coyotes looked fast and precise and kept pressing.  It really looks like they are gelling together and are a lot more comfortable with each other.  Let's hope this carries over into the regular season.

Aebischer and his team squashed SC Bern...5-2.  SC Bern is one of the top teams so this win is massive!

I just had a look at the HC Lugano website and the title of the match report starts with "Super Abby". It also says "The White and Black (bianconeri, the colors of HC Lugano) protected with ardor and lucidity the slot in front of a superlative Aebischer who stopped almost all the first shots in leading the hosts to victory." Looks like David kicked ass again! Way to go!!"

I agree...David kicked ass!  It's so nice to see Lugano being able to score goals this year so Abby can have some breathing room and be able to relax and play his best.

The Coyotes looked 100% better in last night's 5-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.  I hope the chemistry and energy keeps building amongst the players.  They played fast and did not look tired in the 3rd period...hell, most of the team is not even drinking age so I would hope they wouldn't get tired. LOL!

Oh...did I mention Peter Mueller got a hat trick too?!!!  Way to go Peter...you ROCK!

This was the first home preseason game for the Coyotes and let me tell you...it wasn't a moment too soon.  All of us Yotes fans were going crazy for hockey here in the Valley.
Too bad it wasn't the kind of hockey we were hoping for.  The Coyotes lost to the Anaheim Ducks, 3-1 in a very poorly played game.  The Ducks basically had a minor league team on the ice and the Coyotes had their core team playing and still couldn't really mount much of a game.  The Yotes even had a 5 on 3 for almost 3 and a half min a still couldn't score. UGH!

Today the Coyotes had "Coyote Fest" at the arena.  It's something they do every year right before the season starts for the fans to get autographs and stuff.
Anyways...they also had an auction on former players event worn jerseys...they had an Aebischer jersey and guess who won it for $100! WOOHOO!
And the real cool thing is that it's the jersey Abby was wearing at last years Coyote Fest when I first met him!

Sept 10th: HC Lugano Vs Geneve 3-4 OT loss
Sept 13th: HC Lugano Vs SCL Tigers 2-5 Loss
Sept 13th: HC Lugano Vs EHC Biel 3-1 Win

September 5th was Lugano's and Abby's first regular season game against SCL Tigers.
Lugano won 5-2.  Abby allowed 2 goals.

September 6th Lugano played Kloten and lost 2-3. David allowed 3 goals.

In Switzerland there are two leagues NLA /elite league/ and NLB /something like 2nd league or minor league/. There is play-off and play-out system... If you make play-offs you will compete for becoming NLA champion. On the other hand if you don´t make playoffs you have to play in play-out... so in playout there are 4 teams which didn´t make playoffs... These 4 teams in playout compete for playing in NLA next season.. if you win first playout series you are "saved".. if you lose first playout series you will face other defeated team from same playout series. Now if you can win you are "saved". If you lose this 2nd playout series as well you will face the winner of NLB playoffs... so you can still be saved if you can defeat him.. if you can´t you will have to play in NLB next season.

So, Abby and his team, HC Lugano did not make the playoffs but made the playouts and won their series so they are "saved" and they will stay in elite NLA for next season and their season is now over.
